Well I have forgiven but certainly haven’t forgotten it, its actually something you have to commit to it and of course you really have to know if you love the person very much cause trust me if you don’t you will know very soon! cause there are certain things you will no tolerate and might even get flashbacks of it every now and again so if you are planning to forgive make sure you love that person very much and you are sure that he can gain your trust once again. cause without that you don’t have anything.

I don’t forgive infidelities, especially in relationships cos I make that perfectly clear to whoever it is, in the beginning. And if they happen to forget and stray, even if it was "just a mistake, she didn’t mean anything." ,or
" it just happened, I’m sorry." Whatever category it falls under, it’s still and all the same to me, and it is very disrespectful, unforgivable, and the lowest of the low a person can get, cos I value trust, commitment, and fidelity in intimate relationships. And I would never under any circumstances, take that person back, ever. Cos they have already proved to me of how much they "love me" (sarcastically), and how much I can trust them. Please…..nooo waaaay in h3ll would I take him back.

If it was a one night passing mistake, it would be easy for me to forgive. If it was a series of one night stands… I would start to feel differently. If it was an ongoing affair with someone else, and I was lied to continually for weeks or months, well, that’s a whole different ball game.

There are a lot of things that I can forgive in time but cheating is not one of them. I’ve been cheated on before and I dumped his @ss the minute I found out. I would never ever be able to trust them again and if they tried to kiss me I would remember that they were just using those same lips to kiss someone else. Also, how much love and respect can a person have for another if they would cheat on them in the first place? That’s a deal breaker in my book. I don’t care if I’ve been in a relationship with them and we had a strong history. They got to go. I would never see them the same and the love, from my end anyway, wouldn’t be there anymore.
I could never forgive an infidelity, I think that would be a total slap in the face and it makes it even worse to just let it go.
I have too much pride in myself and I think I’m too good to be with a cheater.

I have forgiven in the past….I also attempted to forgive, forget and try to start over in a relationship - just didn’t work for me….I couldn’t forget! I never completely felt satisfied in the promises that were made (a second time) when they were so easily forgotten and broken in the first place!

This isn’t really something I can answer right now, because I’ve never been in the situation. I know that if I ever was cheated on, I’d feel so badly betrayed and hurt, it would be very hard to trust again…However, love is a strong and often blinding force, and at times, people do make mistakes that they later regret. I guess if I felt that my loved one was truly sorry and that they were willing to work hard to earn my trust back, I might give them one more chance, but if they broke it after that, I would drop them from my life forever…Though again, I’m not in the situation, so I don’t know how badly the hurt would actually be.
