If you have committed adultry/infidelity: Did the ‘new’ relationship start as a friendship (platonic)?
Curious to now how many ‘cheaters’ out there didn’t intentially start out that way. Did your cheating relationship start out as just casual friends and then develop into a deeper (sexual) relationship? What were your first signs of knowing that the friendship was becoming something more (prior to sex). How did you change towards your spuse during that time (e.g. what signs were you giving off - if any)?

Well the more you start seeing that other person the more you start distancing yourself from your spouse also if it was a physical attraction to the other person then 9 times out of 10 there will be a sexual relationship. Wether it was a friendship first or just platonic if they are sexually attracted to one another then it will happen because sometimes in marriage, female or male we tend to get bored so when they met that other person who is willing to compromise then that outside person becomes fun and interesting, new, different but if your spouse really loves you he or she will snap out of it and realize what they have at home. The real question is are you willing to forgive?
I think many many adulteries start out this way. That’s why its best to be on your guard.
I do not know on sexual terms but cheating is bad with your spouse with you LEGALLY BINDED!but infatuation do happens and it leads from friendship to more extensive relationship where both parties get hurt in the process ,nevertheless it is not stopping and the world still revolves as we mankind re subtle more in affairs of heart.Decisions can be right or wrong but it is how u manage it!
I have been for a year and a half in a friendship (platonic) casual friends situation where sexual chemistry is heavy and nothing has ever happened.
I think it only happens when you want to take one step further and talk about your feelings with your friend and even go physical.
We both want to stay away from that and I think that’s the reason why our friendship is great and we can flirt safely and have fun without stepping out of boundaries.
Purely platonic for about 4 years. Have a very explicit dream about this person, couldn’t resist, Didn’t even know I was interested that way.
I have had a platonic friendship for 10 years now. We have never been together sexually although we have talked about it and flirt very heavily with each other (we are just like that, both natural flirts). I have never cheated on my wife even though I have been tempted and (even in her mind and words) justified. If I was ever going to cheat, it would be with this same friend. However, I am the exception (so it seems) with guys in that I need the relationship and emotional aspect to be willing to take it to a physical level. In that respect, my wife is lucky. I am not sure I could have resisted all these years (there have been times when my wife would only be with me physically once every 3-4 months) had it not been for the need for the emotional aspect to be willing to be physical. My friend has been there for me during some of the worst times of my marriage (during times of physical and emotional neglect that is).
I think cheaters start out looking to cheat. I do not think it just happens.
