is my husband cheating?
my husband is deployed and a few months ago he calls me and tell me he’s diagnosed with hpv. i asked him if he cheated he said no his doctor told him that hpv sometimes doesn’t show up for years after getting it we’ve been married almost a year and before we got together he slept with alot of girls over 10 females. he hasn’t shown any signs of cheating he’s been treating me right since day one so i don’t know what to believe. i’m not even sure i have it and showing no symptoms and gave it to him i’m confused. my ex boyfriends never checked their selves so it could be a possibility.

I dont hink he has cheated. it is true it can take a lonf tiem to show up aftwer you receive it. you might want to go get checked out to be safe. At least he feels at ease to tel lyou which shows you have a good communication factor in your marriage.
i don’t think he’s cheating..he’s right. it could show up years down the road. don’t get scared yet. if another girl shows up at the house…then be scared
base on your story there is not sign as of yet showing that he’s cheating. and yes you might have it and pass it to him. you should check yourself with a doctor.
It can lay dormant for years. Sometimes it can take 10 to 20 years to show symptoms. I drought he cheated on you. I have a close friend that has it. It took years for him to get sick.
I did a little research and it does say that a person can have it without knowing or without any symptoms for years.
You just have to have faith in your husband and your relationship. I can imagine that’s harder for you since he’s away and that physical connection isnt there.
didnt read the whole thing, but i’d get tested if i were you. Unless you guys use a condom 100% of the time, then i think you would get it as well. Depending on what kind of HPV he has.
good luck and try to remain positive about your husband until you have some truth.
The doctor is right, you could have it but never develop symptoms. Maybe he already had it before he married you. You should get tested.

It is true that hpv can take years to show up. Unfortunately 80% of sexually active people have hpv and it spreads like wildfire. For now I would trust him…

i think you are very confused about what hpv is. men don’t get diagnosed wtih hpv, they are only a carrier with no signs. only women get diagnosed with hpv… understand?
honestly… i highly suggest you go to the doctor and get yourself checked. men cannot have hpv.
Besides it’s not a big deal… 80% of people have it. There are only a few out of the hundreds of strains that can lead to cancer. But, you should get checked… (you do each time you get a pap smear)… Don’t worry.
OK, I’ll explain better, I didn’t mean to confuse you… The only way your man could have known, is if he got genital warts. If they JUST showed up, then he got HPV 20 days to two years ago. But, if he does not have genital warts, then he couldn’t have gotten tested. There is NO FDA approved HPV test for men.
I didn’t mean to be so harsh, when I posted my answer earlier. It is possible that your husband NEVER cheated, he could have gotten it from someone two years ago and it JUST showed up, but ONLY if he got HPV with genital warts. But, if he just says he got HPV and no warts, someone he was sleeping with told him, she was diagnosed with HPV.
So, lets assume he got genital warts, which is the only way he could find out. Have you seen any odd warts in or around your vagina? Have you ever had an abnormal pap? If all these answers are no, then you probably didn’t give it to your husband and you probably don’t have it. Now, if you HAVE seen warts on yourself (you may have given it to your husband), you should go see your doctor, because warts don’t go away, they have to be removed by your doctor.
Genital warts can cause birth defects and/or infertility problems, so please consult a doctor. Your husband should have been more up front with you about HPV being a VERY contagious STD and should have told you to go see your doctor.
Now, if your husband tells you he only has HPV without warts, you already know he is lying, because only women can get tested. Listen very carefully to what he says his doctor told him or how he thinks he got it. HPV CAN ONLY BE PASSED ON THROUGH SEX OR GENITAL TO GENITAL CONTACT. You can not get it, by using the same towel, sleeping in the same bed, from a tolet seat, etc.
If he tries to explain the HPV away, by getting it from one of the ways, you KNOW he can’t, you probably have a cheater on your hands. If he says that his doctor told him, he could get it one of the ways you know he can’t, then you probably have a cheater on your hands.
