Did I catch a STD from my husband?
About 6 weeks ago my husband had a terrible infection on his salivary gland and his face swelled up, his ear swelled up and was even bleeding. And, his tongue turned yellow and brown and black. The doctor said he has a yeast infection on his tongue from taking strong antibiotics. The doctor gave him some medicine but it has not worked to clean his tongue yet.
About a week ago I started to have pain in my mouth and now my tongue is showing the same symptoms. It has turned white and has little red sores. It is painful and I did not take antibiotics.
I’m starting to think my husband caught an STD and he gave it to me. I asked him if he cheated on me and he said no and he claims to be innocent. Did my husband catch a STD and give it to me? What can I have? I have an appointment with the doctor in the morning.
OK, for the ones who are interested in what I have, I will post an update tomorrow after I go to the doctor.
I don’t think I kissed him with his tongue like that. We did have sex once. My toothbrush was next to his so I dont know if I can catch it like that. Sometimes we share utensils. He swears he never cheated on me and I do believe him.
Before I asked him if I cheated on him, I told him I just had to ask to be safe and I hope I didn’t offend him. I just had to ask. I just don’t know if any STD can incubate in the body for a while and come out later…. I don’t understand many STD

I don’t know of any STD that makes your tongue change colors. Have you talked with a doctor about this?

Well first thing you need to do is ask him seriously if he was unfaithful and has an STD because you’re going to find out tomorrow. If he lies.. then either see if you can get counseling or kick him in the groin and divorce him.

well if you kissed him while he had the infection you would get it, but it doesn’t mean he has an STD. a yeast infection in the mouth is called thrush. wait until you see your doctor before you start accusing him of giving you an STD, unless you have other reasons to think he’s been unfaithful
Yeast can be contagious… you could have caught the yeast from him.
If you think he’s cheating, though, that’s a whole different issue…
i never heard of an std that swells your tongue… all you did was catch the infection
It’s possible he is innocent. There are many infections that can be transmitted without sex. Wait until the Doctor tells you what you have. Incidentally, if he had an STD, the doctor would have warned him to have you tested weeks ago.
Unlikely that he did. You are thinking about a VAGINAL yeast infection. If the doctor said it was from the antibiotics, take it as that.
Having said that. It is highly likely that he has passed the yeast infection on to you - But not an STD. Not all yeast infections are STD’s
Side note: Not a good idea to ask/accuse you7r husband of cheating unless you have proof.
i don’t want to raise worry but having sores on the tongue probably means some type of herpes often associated with fevers and colds or your probably just getting sick like the flu or something. but be safe cause the world has some shit out there. ((Good Luck Hope your Okay))
It doesn’t sound like an STD, maybe like a yeast infection…..yuck though. I would definitely ask the doctor if it could be from an STD. I don’t think it sounds like one, but you never know. If your husband doesn’t seem like the type to cheat, I wouldn’t jump to conclusions, however you can never be too careful.
