Afraid husband will deny our baby…?
Let me first say… I HAVE NOT cheated.. not once. Our dates of conception are exact because he was out of town for work when I got pregnant (I went to visit him) but the ultrasound dates aren’t adding up. In fact when I thought I was already 6 weeks I only saw a yolk sac, a week in a half later a fetal pole.. but no heartbeat. We go Wednesday to hopefully see the heartbeat. I still have all my pregnancy symptoms and no bleeding, cramping, or spotting. So I’m trying to stay positive everything is okay with the baby.. but the dates are becoming practically 2 or 3 weeks off. I have VERY irregular periods though so I guess I could have ovulated late and there was sperm still there then maybe it took the egg a little longer to make it to the uterus? I don’t really know. He just has been acting so weird lately, we’re not even sleeping in the same house as of a week ago. His work has had him busy, but I can’t help thinking he’s going to start to wonder if it’s his… and honestly I can’t blame him, I would too if it was this far off. The baby may not even make it especially if we don’t see a heartbeat this Wednesday, but if it does I need to make sure he’s going to be there for me. Not just after with a test, but during too.. how can I reassure him it is his? Sorry so long…

I went through this with my first. My dates didn’t agree with the doctor’s. The measurements and the ultrasound dates contradicted each other. We didn’t even hear a heartbeat until almost 16 weeks with my first child — now a healthy, vibrant, intelligent eleven year old. It happened again with my second and because I was 34 at the time, we had to go through genetic counseling and extra ultrasounds. My son is also healthy and happy at nine.
Relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Don’t get all caught up in what is supposed to happen and when it should happen. Equipment is not always as sensitive as the office claims it to be. Dates and measurements do not always hit the exact mark they are supposed to. You’ll need to remember this again as your child grows. Milestones are averages, not exact expectations.

Stop worrying about this issue and concentrate on your baby. You know it’s his and that’s all that matters. If down the track he wants to make issue, a DNA test will soon sort him out and put him right under your thumb .

A sperm can stay viable for up to four days after you receive it. which also usually means it’s a girl. Once had a Dr. tell my husband the conception date was two weeks earlier than it really was. That would have been fine but my husband was out to sea at the time. Anyway when you get the next ultrasound all your answers should be found. And ask as many questions as you want that is what the Dr. is there for. Most likely he is not worried about the date. He is probably just freaking out internally. Men doesn’t always react how we want them to on this subject. On the plus side they do come around pretty quickly after delivery.
Sounds like you have a loser for a husband. He doesn’t trust you. What kind of marriage is that going to be like?
Look it’s pretty normal for the dates to not match up the reality, so don’t stress. It was the same for me and my partner never even CONSIDERED that I might have cheated, he just knew there was a mistake somewhere,
If your husband really did think the baby wasn’t his, just get a paternity test.
Honestly, he sounds like he isn’t coping very well with the whole thing - maybe some counselling might not be a bad idea.
