Pap test…."You have HPV"?
So, six weeks after having my first child I went back to the OB/GYN for a check up and a pap smear. A few weeks later the doctor called and said that my Pap test came back with abnormal cells, and that I would need to have a biopsy. After the biopsy I was told that I have HPV, a very common virus, but I have no clue what that means! Is HPV an STD? The only person I’ve ever had sex with is my husband, and if he cheated on me before we got married does this mean that the other girl has it too? What are some common symptoms of having HPV? That Pap smear was my first, but after I found out he cheated on me I had myself tested for STDs and it came back negitive.
Lily L: Thanks for the great, detailed answer! I really appreciate it!

- Saturday Lotto AU 4million Tracking through the NSW Lotto recent results, some quite extreme situations have occured in the patterns analysed. The sum totals have been difficult to predict, as there were 3 games in a row where the smallest number was 19, 20, 21 consecutively, this had not occured for 135 draws. The......

- Powerball AU 9million Nice first prize, not so easy to predict result, with sum totals and ANY filters not showing much clear direction. Look for a predominance of small numbers possibly, with a couple coming from way back in the draws. Numbers running HOT: 1 5 12 29 39 40 42 44 Numbers......
- Monday Lotto AU 1million Once again, sticking to the same strategy followed the last few draws, small numbers under 33, and derived from previous 7 draws or less. There are over 100 types of HPV. They cause all types of warts and some have the potential to cause cancer, especially cervical cancer. About 30 are considered STDs because they primarily affect the genitals and are passed through genital contact. (You don’t have to have actually intercourse, just skin contact with an infected area.
It is VERY common. Most people get HPV just as soon as they start having sex. AT LEAST 80% of women will get it.
So your husband is your only sexual partner, so in all likelihood you got it from him. It’s totally possible that your husband contracted this when he cheated. But he could have had this even before that. He could have gotten this before you even met him. HPV can live in the body indefinitely and there is no test for men.
When you were previously tested for STDs, they did not do an HPV test. How do I know? Well first of all, HPV tests aren’t commonly done unless you specifically request it or your pap comes back abnormal. They don’t do the test because it’s so common that pretty much everyone will test positive sometime so most doctors think there is no point. Also, you just said this was your first pap smear. In the most common HPV test, they use the sample from the pap smear to do the HPV test.
Most people with HPV have absolutely no symptoms. Expecially men. If a man has the cancer-causing type of HPV, it is very unlikely he will ever experience symptoms.
A human papillomavirus (HPV) test is done to find a high-risk HPV infection in women. HPV is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). An HPV test checks for the genetic material (DNA) of the human papillomavirus,,,
There are many types of HPV. Some types cause warts that you can see or feel. Other types do not cause any symptoms. Most people do not know they have an HPV infection.
no need to worry ,,there are some medicine to cure it. but your hubby is a PLYER!!! advise him.
HPV is a virus that can lead to Cervical Cancer, most men carry it, but it can be fatal to women if they have it for years and years.
Yes HPV is the most common STD that exists. About 80% of all people who have had sex will contract HPV at some point in their life. Don’t freak out though- that does NOT mean that your husband necessarily cheated on you. I say that because HPV is a virus that you can catch that sometimes is not detected in the system (stays dormant) for years. So it is possible that your husband got HPV from a girl from his past before he met you and then you caught it from him. Go tot he CDC website or WebMD. They have tons of good information on HPV. When I tested positive for it, my doctor didn’t really explain anything to me. He just sent me a letter in the mail saying I had it, so basically I had to do my own research online and ask a million questions.
HPV is an STD that is contracted through genital skin contact and not through bodily fluids, so it is even possible to catch it without having sex. There’s multiple strains of HPV- for some people, they will have HPV and never have any symptoms so they don’t know they have it. Some strains cause genital warts and if you have any "high risk" strains of HPV, it means you are at risk for Cervical Cancer because that’s what its caused by.
So now that you have it, it’s very important that you take good care of your health so you can have a strong immune system. HPV is like catching a cold in the sense that with a strong immune system, you can fight off the virus. It may take a while but it usually goes undetected after some time. I was treated for warts for about 5 different times but haven’t had them since. It’s been about 2 1/2 years I think and even though that’s gone, I still test positive for high risk hpv strains. So make sure you eat healthy (include antioxidant foods), exercise, get plenty of rest, and don’t get too stressed out.
HPV can be passed along in utereo- there is a Finnish study on this fact (Google it). So the idea that it only sexually transmitted is simply not true. It is a very very common virus. It is being promoted far and wide as a sexually transmitted virus because they have created a market to line people up for the HPV vaccine. Contracting HPV infection is not a huge drama - it is a self-limiting virus- meaning it clears up in the body on its own without medication or vaccines. If you are a healthy person you don’t have much to fear. Get a regular PAP smear it is the best way to make sure you have nothing to worry about. It won’t cause you any problems otherwise and you will clear it naturally. There’s alot of misunderstanding and fear mongering going around regarding HPV because it has now become a multi- billion dollar industry. If you have already contracted HPV the vaccine will be useless anyway. Don’t jump to conclusions about your partner.
