Had this crazy dream about my boyfriend cheating on me and a big flood was coming. What does this mean?
(Sorry so long, but it’s really bugging me and I’d like to know someone else’s opinion. Please, no ignorant, or childish answers. Don’t bother reading if you’re not going to answer intellectually. Thank you.)
Lately, I’ve been having a lot of dreams about my boyfriend cheating on me, however, the one I had last night was really different. First, I was back in high school and my boyfriend was talking to some chick who kept flirting with him. So I asked him to stop, but then a few moments later, there was panic all throughout the school that a flood was coming, so my boyfriend and I became separated. It seemed as though the world was ending or something, cuz the water was coming in rapidly, almost like a small wave. Eventually, everyone wound up in a subway station that had two levels, and I was on the second and my boyfriend was on the first. So when I’d finally found him, he was with a bunch of his old guy friends from high school and he was acting like a big jerk. He then broke up with me in front of everyone and kind of shooed me away. Then, I watched as he proceeded to go into the bathroom with some random chick and he made it clear that his intentions were to have sex with her. So, shortly afterwards, I went into the bathroom right next to his and I was raped by some homeless man, but the whole time, I was calling my boyfriends’ name, knowing that he could hear me, but he never came to my rescue… Then the water began to rise once again and everyone ran to the upper level and towards the end of the subway station, where we all ended up in what looked like heaven. It was really beautiful, like a tropical paradise in the middle of a valley. So once we all reached the bottom of the valley, everyone rejoiced and was so glad to be safe. We were all getting ready to camp out for the night, when my boyfriend walks up, with that same chick, lies down beside me and starts talking to me as if I was supposed to be okay. And the very last thing that I remember was him asking me if I was gonna be his girlfriend still, and I just turned my back on him and went to sleep.
*Currently, my boyfriend and I are having trust issues.
*I highly doubt that he’s actually cheating on me.
*He frequently had dreams about me cheating on him as well (I’ve never cheated on him though).
Oh yeah, and I had 3mg of Melatonin…

Water is the symbol of emotions, so a big flood would represent dangerous and overwhelming emotions. You should prepare yourself. If you highly doubt that he’s cheating on you, you wouldn’t have the dream at all. Rape is a feeling of powerlessness, or that someone has used you. It is common for women to feel "raped" when their bfs have broken up with them. Don’t go into denial; turning your back on him in the end is denial about the truth.
Do you subconsciously wish you weren’t in this relationship, do you think? It seems to me that your dream is telling you that things arn’t right, and that you’re anticipating a very very rough time - and you think it would be the end of the world if you broke up.. but deep down, you know that if it happened and you did become ’seperated’, things might be alot better for you (safe on the beautiful tropical island)
Trust is THE most important thing in a relationship - love is important, but you cannot be in a relationship without trust at all. You can be in a nice relationship without love, but you cannot be in a nice relationship without trust. Ask yourself what you really want from your life, and whether you want your life with him, and to feel like you’re in a trustless vortex for much longer.
Your relationship can be fixed, but ask yourself whether the heartache with this particular guy is worth it.
I am new at this dream thing but I see a lot of warnings:

Well being a guy, I can tell you that if your bf told you about his dreams after you told him about yours, then it is likely that he made his dreams up. Why he did this is anyone’s guess, but my hunch is that he did it to make you think that if you are both having similar dreams, and you don’t cheat, then he must not be doing it either. Smart guy, since it seems to have worked. Now this doesn’t mean he IS cheating on you; there are a million reasons why people lie, so who knows why he did it, if he did it. But trust me if the order of events was you telling him, him telling you, then he may very well be lying.
Another possibility is that when you told him about your cheating dreams, it caused his brain to produce similar dreams. This is more likely if you 2 are or were very close. Either way I wouldn’t worry about it. Dreams only affect reality (IMO you’re entitled to your own beliefs) in the sense that a dream about something significant or traumatic may cause you to behave differently than you normally would in situations pertaining to the subjects of your dream. In fact, if you dreams started at the same time as your trust issues, they may very well be the cause.
If your dream is a frequently recurring one, it could also be your subconscious trying to tell you something. Maybe its time to move on. Maybe you need to trust him more. Who knows. Whatever YOU thing your dreams are telling you, if anything is what is important. Ultimately you are the only one who can decide how they will affect you. The important thing is that you not make your dreams any kind of deciding factor in your relationship. After all, they are just dreams, not psychic visions.
