After my ex left me 4 another guy I found this really great woman I connected with on many levels. Unfortunately recent separation haunted her too. We’ve had gr8 times together, concerts, walks etc. We’ve been 2gethr almost 2 years, but live in own homes. Over time we’ve both faced lingering effects of a cheating spouse. She’s had a problem with needing to cover over her hurt with alcohol. I brought this to her attention, and she agreed.
Some hurtful things she’s done while in these states r hard for me to ignore. Recently she told me she had a thing with her friend & my best buddy. I suspected this as few events took place about a year ago, & never brought my tearful feelings to her. I figured it was my issue left over from my past. Instead I spoke 2 my brother about my feelings. Wrong move! Now both he and his wife don’t like her. 6 months and they don’t know I’m seeing her. Last nite we met & I told that I needed space. She took it as over. What 2 do, I don’t like hurting her or me.

This all sounds very confusing. All I know is when a man says he needs space, that’s normally our (women) Q to move on.
You need space, and you need to find a faithful partner. She was trying to get over a cheating husband by abusing alcohol and cheating on her boyfriend. No kind of logic there. Don’t worry about hurting her, she did not think of you when she cheated.
