How will the John Edwards affair affect the Democratic Party’s chances at the White House?
For those of you who don’t know, John Edwards admitted today that he had an extramarital affair with a former campaign video producer in 2006. He continuously lied about the affair throughout his campaign, calling it "false" and "tabloid trash." In your opinion, what impact (if any) will this revelation have on the Democrats as they try to retake the White House?

It won’t make one bit of difference, except that Edward’s won’t be a VP candidate. This is normal behavior in the hallowed halls and the American voters doesn’t think it matters.

I would say that it will discourage turnout to a very very limited amount. The average liberal doesn’t care about this trash. It may also empower some additional unmotivated McCain voters. I would hesitate to say that even a fraction of a percent would be motivated to change their positions.

It won’t effect the Democratic party’s chances at the white house because Edwards didn’t have an affair with Barak or Michelle. The story isn’t about the white house and the elections, it’s about John Edwards. And, most Americans are far more worried with the economy and the direction of the country and they are far more disgusted with GWB and Cheney these days than politicians with extra marital affairs.
I don’t see how it will change anything. It is a badge of honor for the party, and the American people should know that. If not, the press will inform them of their error for not focusing on the issues, such as the fact that Obama is the Second Coming, and Al Gore only purchased a hundred foot boat to save the animals when the end comes. In their eyes, Noah would be proud … if they believed in such fables. Two by two … lol.

Good question. The truth is Democrats will vote for a Democrat even if Hitler was their front runner as evidence by Bill Clinton being their last President who had hit squads used to destroy anyone in Mena Arkansas who stood in his way with the old investigation on he and his wife during the White Water scandal. Most Democratic candidates are fallanders and charlatans anyway and most of them commit adultery and this is why they are Democrats because they can be accepted by people who do and have the same values as one another as "birds of a feather flock together"…
It will affect the democrats about as much as Rush Limbaugh’s pill popping(and lying about it) affected the republicans. None.

How could you not know?? If you watch Fox it has been on every 10 minutes for the last 6 hours. It is very sad about his affair and Fox is having a field day with it but it shouldn’t effect the Democratic party or Obama in the long run (much to Fox and the Republican party’s chagrin).

I don’t see why it would have an effect on the Democratic party. He isn’t gunning after the nomination anymore, so it shouldn’t be held against the democratic party just because one man in that party couldn’t stay faithful. I think it it wrong what he did, but it is his and his wife’s business/ problem. No VP for him though. Good question.
The fact that the mainstream media sat on this story, and that the National Enquirer scooped them on it, shows how much in the tank they are for Obama, Edwards, and other Democrats. The same thing has happened to Larry Sinclair. The mainstream media is sitting on this story as well. Hopefully people will start complaining and stop allowing the MSM to supress the truth to cover the asses of their chosen candidates. It’s extraordinarily unseemly. Hopefully soon the MSM will force Obama to acknowledge his little gay sex and cocaine escapade with Sinclair back in 1999.

I don’t think it reflects on anyone but him and the ho he hooked up with. But I’ve got to say I am disappointed in the man. I believed he was a decent guy. And now its out there for his kids to see forever. Here I thought the guy was capable of running the country and he can’t even keep his pants up. His wife has terminal cancer right? So now his poor kids have this to deal with too! It’s very sad.

John Edwards’ affair might have a slight on the Democratic Party’s chance to take back the White House. But, I highly doubt it.
not much, he really isn’t running for anything right now. and thank god for that! imagine if he would have gotten the nomination and then this story broke out, he would have destroyed the dems hopes at the white house. what an as.s. that is just pure arrogance right there.
