It’s one of the warning signs. By itself it means nothing, but you might be suspicious if your spouse is doing any of these other things as well:
* Sudden increase in time away from home
* Decreased sexual interest with you
* Cheating spouse is often distracted and day dreaming
* Cheating husband or wife is often “unavailable” while at work
* Cheating spouse attends new functions outside of work or not wants to go alone
* Cell phone calls from you are not returned in timely fashion
* Cheating spouse leaves house or goes to other rooms to talk on the telephone
* Cheating spouse uses computer alone and secretly
* Cheating spouse asks about your schedule more often than usual
* Mileage on car is high yet he / she reports only short distance errands
* Clothes smell of perfume or cologne
* Cheating spouse gets his / her laundry done independently
* Unexplained payments on bank statements
* Cheating spouse has more cash on hand without accountability
* Cell phone bills contain calls with long duration
* Cheating spouse now has a phone card but never used one before

* Internet web browser history list (this is a record of web sites visited) contains unusual sites

Honestly, I might but there are other things to consider too. Is it possible that they feel old. Perhaps someone thought they were older so they started cleaning up a bit. My husband and I were at a carnival and his age was guessed about 10 years older than correct. He started sprucing up right after that. Or does your spouse watch that show "10 yrs. younger" that could do it too.
No, I might guess that my spouse suddenly realized they let themselves go and that they wanted to look good again.
Or I might guess that she/he has been feeling really down about themselves and needed a boost of confidence to feel good again and that is what helped.
It all depends on the situation. Sometimes in a marriage you tend to let yourself go and not care as much. Maybe a comment was made and they decided to fix their appearance.
The best thing to do is talk about it.

Cheating because your spouse is taking a interest in there appearance? Sounds like maybe you have your own issues,If this is the glue that holds your marriage together.
I think that people who are in relationships let themselves go somewhat. We all get comfortable and don’t take care of our appearance as much as we should. I also think that we realize this and start to make changes. So that’s probably what’s happening.

No, maybe they are trying to get you to notice them.
If you google "signs of a cheating spouse", that comes up as one (their appearance becomes more important than it has been), but it’s not the only one. You should google that and see if your spouse has other signs because that alone may not be a sign, but in combination may become more obvious.
No. Why would their appearance mean they’re cheating? Maybe she just cares what she looks like.

they care how they look
they might think they need to impress you more
could be cheating only i really doubt it
or, you could have just never noticed how much they try to look good.
talk to them about it. what’s the worst that could happen? if they really love you, they will understand your concern.
yes, they could be. suddenly caring about how they look when they are going somewhere when they haven’t care of years is a red flag. next time they say they are getting "dressed" to go to the store, check up on them and see if they are really at the store. i’ll bet you they aren’t.
