For biblical purposes the bible states that a man should love his wife as God loves the church and for a woman she is to honor and obey their husband. Now, I believe that an extramarital affair would break both of these statements.
Also, the 7th commandment is "Thou shalt not committ adultry"
Yes, it is a sin if you are a Christian. If you are not a Christian it is just plain flat wrong and immoral.
anytime you go outside the marriage its a sin duh! but who cares as long as you are saved sin all you want youve already got a ticket into heaven!! noones perefect goahead and just live life you only live once that why i believe in open relationships and open marriages so you can do whatever with whoever whenever

you asking if it is ia sin means you are a christian. therfore the fact that you know the word sin, makes it so. meaning going against your religion and teachings. it is also called adultery. (generic both for male & female) God did not make a set of rules for man and another for woman.

And even if you’re not a religious person, you’re hurting someone else by cheating. I don’t think you’d like to be hurt like that.
As a Christian, I would consider a sexual or romantic relationship outside of marriage sinful. It betrays the trust that is inherent between a husband and wife.
However, I think it is much more critical to consider the effect it has on a marriage. It’s difficult for many couples who have suffered infidelities to remain together. I know for many people, it is the one unforgiveable sin of marriage. So, in this case, while the sin of infidelity is ultimately forgiven by God through prayer, it is much more likely to be unforgiveable by a spouse.
