Why do some many people of Detroit think the scandal is simply about Mayor Kwame cheating on his wife?
I don’t get. The situation has been in the news, in print and discussed.
However I hear so many people saying, "He cheated on his wife. Its a personal matter. Leave the Mayor alone!"
Am in living in dreamworld…. Are they not seeing and hearing what I am seeing and hearing… What gives?
1) He lied under oath
2) He’s responsible for two police officers losing their jobs
3) He cost the taxpayers of Detroit 9 million dollars

You are right it is not about him cheating on his wife. It is a combination of many things. The dude is an idiot. I want to see this corrupt scoundrel go. I have invested big money in Detroit and I personally think he is an ignorant bastard. He treats Detroit as his personal city.
Because Bill Clinton taught us that lies to court officers are not important crimes and should not be prosecuted.

The only thing I can think of is these people are very ignorant. They are most certainly in love with KK and refuse to believe he does anything wrong in spite of constantly being caught stealing city money - many times and all the rest. I just remembered the time his hench men stole 2 or 3 new cop motorcycles and stashed them on Bell Isle for personal use. I hope someone is keeping track of all the things he has done wrong, the list is long. Of course the sex scandal is about so much more than him being a moral scum bag. His supporters conveniently don’t mention the real legal issues.

Because there is allot of idiots out there who don’t want to believe reality, they rather believe a democrat can never possibly ever do anything else wrong other than having an affair.

I think that after the speech last night, the only reason why people might find sympathy for his duties in office, is because of his wife’s speech.
Her coming up besides him, and him not "resigning" is like a barganing ship for when is found agains the wall with all his legal situations.
I agree with you. What about the times he goes to 5-star hotels/spas and spends the city’s money? the cost to keep up the mansion and his lifestyle? all the take out dinners ordered by expensive, top detroit restaurants? yes, and the hooker who was murdered by a drive by? just last weekened, he was feeding another lady other than his wife… chocolated covered strawberries at a spa!! All this money could be spend to clean up the city. to tear down the burnt down homes and buildings, to help the suffering schools!!!
i guess these ppl do not pay taxes… just like his newly appointed chief of staff! they are too dumb to listen to the news and read the papers. i guess the time when they wake up will be when they are old and they begin to look around them carefully. of course his wife is going to stick by his side… with alot of help from their church and its the ‘right thing to do’ …. she’s living large too and he is kissing her ass big time… i bet. oh and the amount these ppl are paid….!!!! how sad… maybe thats the place we should be getting jobs at!!!
I agree with you I felt the same way about Clinton and his scandal, but I think that hearing about a man stepping out of his marriage says a lot about his character, also he slept with a woman that also worked for the city, and a few months prior they did a story about how he was pulling strings to get tickets removed for her. I think the bigger question is why in the heck are the people that live in Detroit still re-electing him as mayor, they re-elected him after he got caught spending tax payer dollars on SUV’s and paying his family salaries for doing nothing at all, he is a thug and needs to be removed.

It was also in the news that he used some of the Detroit Treasury money to buy extenpesive cars for all his relatives.
Not only that, but he also uses the money to go to all these expensive spas and resteraunts!
I mean, he’s cheated on his wife non stop too! I can’t believe she hasn’t divorced him, but I guess she likes all the pleasure and money! If he’s fired or resigns, she’ll divorce him for sure.
The fact is, he WILL be re-elected. And that is the problem. I think many people are backing him because they feel he is being picked on (by the white media) because of his color.
The city is in the poor situation that it is in because people are supporting a candidate for the wrong reasons. (IE. Keeping Coleman Young forever and getting rid of Dennis Archer after 1 term)
Detroit needs to be run by a "business man" (or women) someone who can bring REAL (out of state) industry to the city. We have not done that! We are actually losing our industry to other states.
Yes, Quicken loans is coming to the "city" but that doesn’t help the Detroit-metro area as a whole. All Kwame is doing is putting Band-aids over deep cuts. You can make the Down town area a little nicer, bring the stadiums down to the center of the city, and build shopping centers, but that is not helping the 4 million people in the suburbs that are also losing their jobs.
WE need to lure NEW out of state or start-up companies here. Not steal them from the surrounding cities.

I know what he did is wrong but is it really any of our business. If he was a regular person it would not be all over the media like it is.
BUT it is someones business if he costs taxpayers money and also future investors money, he has jeopardized the future business of new stores and businesses coming in to the city. I know if I were a business owner I would think twice about coming to this city or the mere fact that there is so much scandal going on by top administrators. its not good for the city, HE is not good for the city. BUT the people who elect him look at him as who they are…its a sad never ending cycle…he is a young THUG. and who lives in Detroit?? sad to say but Thugs…there are more thugs, then there are not…
I personally don’t care what he does in his private life BUT he shouldn’t have spend tax payers money on stupid crap, and he shouldn’t have gotten those cops fired and he shouldn’t have lied under oath.
