that I’m separated from. The agreement was to not see other people, but he keeps telling me that I’m with someone else which is absolutely not what is going on. I don’t cheat-karma is a powerful thing and I want nothing of it. But the way he is acting is making me curious as to what he is up to, I always seem to hear girls in the background through his phone. How can I find out the truth?

The only way to "catch" him is to hire someone to follow his every move and take pictures of any indiscretion. Has it really come to that, though? If you don’t trust one another I think it’s time to make a decision about where you both really want this relationship to go. You can’t rebuild it by tearing at one another like this. The two of you need to sit down and have a long talk about what you really want. Either decide to remain together and commit to counseling, honesty and lots of effort to patch your relationship or call it quits. If you’re both not fully on board it will never work.
His accusations of you portend of possible indiscretions on his part and his projecting that onto you is his way of rationalizing his own behavior; if you are breaking the agreement, then he isn’t such a bad guy for doing the same.
You’d have to hire someone to follow him or follow him yourself.
Is it worth it? If you are separated now then apparently you’ve both had problems in the marriage. If you feel that you can’t trust him now, what is there to mend?

Well, you can hire a private eye, but your intuition will tell you everything, if you listen to it. Trust your gut. There are already issues here. And unfortunately, cheating occurs more often in relationships than anyone really wants to know.
Hire a private detective that will take care of your problem. Just be ready if you find out he really is cheating on you. Besides you cannot stop him from seeing other people anyway if you are legally separated agreement or not you have no control of it. Men are men. They are not to be trusted just like a woman. Even if you do not do it there will always be times that he/she will think of it because of your legal separation. Goodluck
